MOHALI: Sports activities in Mohali will get a fillip, with the completion of international-level multi-sports stadium and hockey stadium, which will be inaugurated shortly.
"With this, Mohali will become a city with maximum international-level sports stadia. Five more multi-sports facilities are being constructed here and these are near completion.
International-level hockey stadium, built at a cost of Rs 50 crore in Sector 63, is also almost complete," said deputy commissioner Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu.
"Multi-sports stadium, built at a cost of Rs 3.8 crore, is being constructed at Sector 61. National and international sports tournaments will be held there." The Sector 61 stadium will have two
badminton courts, as many table-tennis halls, gym, basketball court, volleyball court, skating rink, football ground and two lawn tennis courts.
